Santa Star Ornament

Materials:
Red cardstock or felt the size of your star
Piece of flesh colored paper or felt for face
Several cotton balls for beard and fur
black cardstock or felt for boots
Black ribbon belt
2 small black buttons*
gold buckle*
2 wiggle eyes*
Small red Pom Pom for nose*
Small red heart for the mouth*
Piece of ribbon or cording for hanger
Scissors
White craft glue
*These items can all be cut out of paper when making the cardstock Santa.
Use the finished picture as your guide when placing all the decorations

Instructions:

Trace the 5 pointed star shape, you can enlarge or shrink it at this point. Cut the star out of red. Cut out the "U" shape piece for the face and glue it in place.

Glue bits of cotton on the top of the face and around the bottom forming the beard.

Glue the eyes in place and add some cotton for eyebrows.

Glue the red Pom Pom in place for his nose and the red heart for his mouth.

Glue a small amount of cotton in place for the mustache.

Cut out the belt, belt buckle and boots gluing each in place as shown. Add the buttons.

Glue more cotton in place for the sleeve ends and boot tops.

Make a hanger loop from the ribbon/cord and glue it to the top point of the Star-Santa. Glue a small ball of cotton on top of the hanger to anchor it in place.

This Santa can be made in several sizes and a number of materials then used as a tree ornaments, package ties, door hangers or napkin ring/place cards.

You can write the name of the person on the back as well as the year and a special greeting and use them as Christmas cards.

Most of all have fun making them with your children.
