This doorhanger can be made of cardboard, poster board, fun foam, felt, plastic or wood. It can be used to decorate your own door or as a Holiday Greeting card for a friend or relative.

This is a great group project. Provide a variety of materials and allow each to decorate as they wish. Use the above scenes as ideas only.

Materials:

Hanger material of your choice
Paint, colored pencils, markers or scraps of fabrics to complete the design
Pencil to trace the shape
Scissors
White craft glue
Beads, sequins buttons, pom poms, glitter etc as you wish

Instructions:

Trace the door hanger shape and cut it out. Because of the different size and shape of door closures you may need to change the size of the opening to fit.

Draw or trace the design you want on your hanger. Color, paint or glue on the fabric scraps and trims as you wish to finish your design.

Allow paint aand glue to dry completely. Write your message on the back and sign and date your finished hanger.

Optional: Use a specific Holiday on the front and a general season design on the back as shown. The snowman can stay out all winter with the Christmas tree turned to the front during the Christmas season. This extends the life of your door hanger.
