Handmade Paper Vase

Handmade Paper Vase

Materials:

20 or 24 ounce plastic soft drink bottle
Handmade paper
Kitty litter, pebbles or marbles to weight the vase and hold the flowers
Raffia or jute tie
Scissors
Option: Natural dried material to embellish

Instructions:

You may either purchase hand made or fancy paper or make your own. If making your own a nice touch is to add a little glitter and pieces of natural dried material on top of the pulp after you have poured it out. It is prettier to use a thick piece of paper for this project.

Pinch the side of the bottle and cut with scissors either straight across or on an angle. Wrap the paper around the soft drink bottle. In order to do this easily you may need to dampen the paper slightly. Form it around the bottle and tear the excess away. Using either jute or raffia wrap it around the bottle two to three times and tie in a shoestring bow. Tuck natural dried material under the bow to embellish.

Add kitty litter, pebbles or marbles to weight your vase and act as a stay for your flowers.
