Fold the tissue paper in half lengthwise. It will be two
by twelve inches. Fringe the top edge or you could cut with a
decorative scissors. Fold a hook in the wrapped floral wire. Hook
the wire into the folded edge of your tissue paper. Roll the tissue
paper around the hook tightly all the way to the end. With the
beading wire wrap around the fold part of the flower and the stem
wire to anchor them together. Begin just above the beading wire
and wrap the floral tape down onto the stem wire being sure to
stretch the floral tape so it will stick to itself. Set aside.
Cut several long thin leaf shapes from green tissue. Place
them randomly along the stem and wrap in place with the floral
tape. Wrapping a few extra times in one spot will give the characteristic
nodule look to the stem.
Crepe Paper option: In addition to fringing the edge you can
slightly stretch the edge to give your flower a little more ruffle.
This is done when the flower is complete. Hold the edge of the
flower between the thumb and forefinger of each hand with your
thumbs close together, and gently pull the paper slightly. Move
to a new area and repeat.
