Place the fabric around the cardboard tube folding it and overlapping
slightly. Glue in place. Fold the ends into the tube gluing them
at the top and the bottom of the tube. At one end punch four holes
equidistant around the tube. Push one end of the ribbon in the first
hole and the other end in the hole opposite. Repeat with the second
ribbon in the two remaining holes. Take the center of the two ribbons
and tie an overhand knot leaving a small loop to hang your windsock
by.
Glue the red, white and pink ribbons in the other end of the
tube to form the streamers. Alternate the colors around the tube.
You may use ribbon all the same width or varied widths. You may
also use all one color or a combination of the three colors.
To form the Luv Bugs decorating the tube portion of the windsock
use the smaller hearts in a pair as the wings with pom pom bodies
glued between the two hearts. A larger heart can be used as the
wings with the pom poms glued down the center forming the body of
the critter. Pieces of pipe cleaner can be used as the antennae.
You may also randomly glue heart sequins on the tube portion of
your windsock.
These can be hung from a ceiling fan chain indoors or on the
porch.
